Together with our head chef Johannes, we visited Vera’s cheese dairy in Lautern – specialising in handmade goat’s cheese made with heart 🐐🧀
After a good long petting session, we were allowed to accompany the goats to lush spring meadows. Afterwards, Vera and Desiree spoke with palpable passion about animal husbandry, craftsmanship and responsibility.
In the small but excellent cheese dairy, one thing quickly became clear: There’s an incredible amount of dedication in every wheel.
And suddenly we were right in the middle of it all – family vibes included 💛
In the private kitchen, we got to taste feta, grilling cheese, Camembert, wild garlic & herb cheese, as well as various hard cheeses.
Encounters like these remind us why local roots, quality and the real people behind it all matter so much.
