... Jack-of-all-trades from the North

While browsing a trade magazine, I came across the job advertisement for VILOTEL. The ad and the hotel concept were highly appealing. It was certainly tempting, but driving 1000 km from Hamburg to Oberkochen for an interview just for the thrill of it seemed rather unappealing and unsustainable.

And then?

Until then, I only knew the “Ostalb region” from the map. So, we conducted the interview via video. We immediately clicked, and we reached an agreement. Our move from the North to the South with my then family of three followed very quickly. It started in the construction trailer, with diverse tasks.

Construction manager, organizing operations, setting up online systems, back office, front office… 1000 exciting tasks.

Today, my office is centrally located in the hotel, my family now consists of 4 treasures, I still can’t speak Swabian, but a ‘Moin’ even in the evening is usually understood. As Assistant Manager at Vilotel, I am responsible for helping ensure good occupancy, and I’m on first-name terms with most bookers and guests who, like me, appreciate the relaxed, friendly way of working.

My family comes first. Our children inspire us daily to try new things, so there isn’t often much time for my hobby, but when there is, I prefer to go high up into the mountains for alpine hiking, where I also love the challenges.
